Hands On Wheel Thrown Pottery Classes for Adults Location: Hands On 208-736-4475 147 Shoshone Street North Twin Falls, ID 8 week adult pottery classes 830am-11am Tuesday OR Wednesday OR 6pm-830pm Tuesday OR Wednesday October 4,5 through November 22,23 2011 Maximum 3 students each class. Instructor: Paula Dodd, member of Magic Valley Arts Council. Artist on display: Full Moon Gallery. Friday Market, Downtown Twin Falls, Idaho. Beginner/hobbyist classes. Stoneware cone,
5 clay Lead-free, dishwasher, microwave & food safe cone 5 glazes. Learn the various aspects of wheel thrown pottery including how to: wedge, center, throw, trim, and glaze. Classes meet once a week as listed above with 2 hours instruction and final 1½ hour with routine clean up. Missed classes are lost unless canceled by the instructor. Cost for this 8 week session is $175 and includes glazes, kiln time, and the first 25# bag of clay. Pottery toolkit will be supplied to first time students. Additional clay supplies can be purchased as needed. Short clipped fingernails are essential to optimum clay manipulations. Also short sleeves plus apron plus lap towel highly recommended. Weeks 1-6 of instruction will include how to wedge, center, throw, and trim clay. We will spend time getting the feel of the clay and practicing techniques to yield simple forms such as bowls, mugs, vases, etc. Week 6 will be the last time to throw; final trimming and the bisque firing at week 7. Week 8 will be final glaze firing. Pots will be picked later

Tennyson and Erik will be making their debut at CoffeeHouse Night this month so please come, have fun and relax with us. CoffeeHouse Night at Hands On is a great way to spend your Friday night. If you are interested in an adult POTTERY WHEEL class, our Potter in Residence, Paula Dodd has another series of classes starting next week. The classes meet once a week for 7 weeks, starting January 11/12 and running through February 22/23. They are for beginners and hobbyists alike. You will learn the various aspects of wheel throwing – wedging, centering, throwing, trimming and glazing. The cost is $155 which includes your first 25 pounds of clay, a pottery tool kit for the beginners, instruction, glazing and firing. We have spots left in our Tuesday and Wednesday morning classes (8:30am – 11am). Deadline for signing up is Friday January 7th. Calling all Wine Lovers! Attention all Chocoholics! Wine and Chocolate Night is back by popular demand. You’re all invited to join us as we pair several different wines and chocolate desserts for a unique and fun tasting/painting experience at Hands On! Our EAT, PAINT, LOVE series continues on Wednesday, January 26th 7-10pm. It’s the newest way to relax with your girlfriends while EATing, PAINTing, drinking the beverage of your choice and LOVE-ing it all! Here’s how it works…Our staff will teach you how to create this beautiful heart candy dish, using our specialty SNOWFALL glaze. It’s like a painting class and girls night out, all rolled into a few fantabulous hours of fun! You can either keep your candy dish or fill it with chocolate and give it to your sweetie for Valentine’s day! No experience is required – this event is designed for beginners. Hands On will also provide snacks and appetizers for everyone. You bring your friends and the drinks. We do all the rest. Beer/Wine tasting is complimentary for all painters.

It all kicks off this Friday night with First Friday Music and Painting. Mary Grace and Jackson are the featured musical guests and you get studio-fee-free painting throughout the evening. The following week brings an ice cream sundae party and a DIVA night for the ladies to enjoy some great time with girlfriends while enjoying unique wines paired with appetizer tidbits. Storytime along with Movie and Pizza night captures the hearts of the little ones and teens.
