Lincoln Day Celebration – Feb 11

The Republican Members and Associates are hosting a Lincoln Day Celebration on February 11 with a dinner show at Canyon Crest. Scott Rasmussen, author, political analyst and public opinion pollster will be the guest speaker. A VIP Cocktail party will be held at 5:30 pm, cocktail hour is at 6 pm and the dinner show starts at 7 pm. Decadent desserts will also be auctioned after dinner. Magic Valley Arts Council presents the first of a series of Jazz Club dinner and music events, featuring Fox-Jensen Jazz Band, 7-10 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Twin Falls Center for the Arts, 195 River Vista Place, Suite 101. Door opens at 6:30 p.m. Band members are Jesse Hadley on piano, Adam Crofts on bass, Michael Frew on guitar, Brent Jensen on sax, Jeff Fox on sax and Alex Doetsch on drums. Tickets, which include dinner, are $50, at Twin Falls Center for the Arts or 734-2787. Seating is limited; tickets must be purchased in advance.

Have dinner and stay to cheer on the Kimberly Bulldog Boys Basketball Team as they play Buhl. Freshman game starts at 4:30, followed by JV and Varsity.
The KES Raffle Drawing will also be held at this time. Raffle tickets are 50 cents each and can be purchased from a KES student or at the game. Grand Prize is a Home Entertainment Center that includes a 50” big screen TV and DVD player. Proceeds for the Chili Supper will support KMS & KHS programs and proceeds from the raffle will go to technology needs at the elementary school.
Harvest Time Festival – Nov 11-13

Twin Falls Harvest Time Festival, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. NOV. 11-12 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. NOV. 13 at College of Southern Idaho’s Eldon Evans Expo Center. The holiday arts and crafts show features 176 vendors with 187 booths. Thirty of those vendors are new to the show, featuring recycled metal art, handmade children’s chairs, hand-carved knives, hand-blown glass, handmade decorative watches, log furniture, wooden frames, soaps, pottery and more. The event includes bracelet-making and face-painting for the kids, and a “man cave” upstairs in the balcony with big-screen television. Presented by CSI’s Collegiate DECA Club students and assisted by other CSI student clubs including horticulture, equine, and rodeo. New to the show will be Twin Falls High School DECA and Finance Academy. CSI Hosteurs Club students will sell food throughout the show, including breakfast 8-10:30 a.m. Admission is $2 per person and includes entry in raffles. Children under 10 admitted free. Parking and free shuttle bus available in the CSI lot near the Herrett Center for Arts and Science. No parking allowed on North College Road.
Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser – Nov 9

We are holding a spaghetti dinner fundraiser at the Twin Falls Senior Center to help keep their doors open. This event is open to ALL the public. All proceeds earned will go to the Twin Falls Senior Center. Dinner will include salad, spaghetti, bread, and dessert.

CoffeeHouse Night – January 7th
Join us tonight from 7:30-10:30 pm at Hands On for our monthly CoffeeHouse Night. We’ll have live music, a relaxing and fun atmosphere, studio-free-pottery painting and of course hot drink specials! Tennyson and Erik will be making their debut at CoffeeHouse Night this month so please come, have fun and relax with us. CoffeeHouse Night at Hands On is a great way to spend your Friday night. Pottery Wheel Classes – Register by January 7th
If you are interested in an adult POTTERY WHEEL class, our Potter in Residence, Paula Dodd has another series of classes starting next week. The classes meet once a week for 7 weeks, starting January 11/12 and running through February 22/23. They are for beginners and hobbyists alike. You will learn the various aspects of wheel throwing – wedging, centering, throwing, trimming and glazing. The cost is $155 which includes your first 25 pounds of clay, a pottery tool kit for the beginners, instruction, glazing and firing. We have spots left in our Tuesday and Wednesday morning classes (8:30am – 11am). Deadline for signing up is Friday January 7th. Our EAT, PAINT, LOVE series continues on Wednesday, January 26th 7-10pm. It’s the newest way to relax with your girlfriends while EATing, PAINTing, drinking the beverage of your choice and LOVE-ing it all! Here’s how it works…Our staff will teach you how to create this beautiful heart candy dish, using our specialty SNOWFALL glaze. It’s like a painting class and girls night out, all rolled into a few fantabulous hours of fun! You can either keep your candy dish or fill it with chocolate and give it to your sweetie for Valentine’s day! No experience is required – this event is designed for beginners. Hands On will also provide snacks and appetizers for everyone. You bring your friends and the drinks. We do all the rest. Festival of Lights Parade

It’s the annual Festival of Lights Parade along Main Avenue. Parade starts in the 500 block of Main Avenue South, near Krengel’s True Value Hardware, 628 Main Ave. S., and proceeds to the 500 block of Main Avenue North.
Several downtown businesses will have extended hours and open houses. It’s also First Friday in town with Hands On, Rudy’s, and Plantscaping hosting special events.

3rd Annual St. Nicholas Comes to Kimberly

Keep warm with the Senior Citizen Center’s chili feed. Stroll through downtown businesses enjoying refreshments and games. Christmas carols will be sung by local artists while we all await the arrival of St. Nicholas riding in on his horse to light up main street and the downtown sky with fireworks in celebration of the beginning of the Christmas Season.

CSI Chamber Choir Concert

The Christmas concert program of the CSI Chamber Choir, accompanied by the Magic Valley Chamber Orchestra, will include Messiah, part I (The Christmas portion) and the Hallelujah Chorus as well as seasonal songs and Christmas carols. This concert will feature soloists Rachael Larson (soprano), Ahna Chevalier (sopranos), Anna Majernikova (alto), and Bryce Allen (bass). Admission is free with a suggested donation of $5 to the CSI Music Department at the door.
