Castleford Annual Charity Auction – Jan.28

The Castleford Men’s Club is holding its annual fund raising auction Jan 28, in the Castleford High School Cafeteria at 10 a.m. The Castleford Men’s Club supports community events especially involving youth. Having been formed in the 1940′s, the club sponsors a scholarship fund, 4-H, PTYO, Youth Sports, all school groups, and recently built the Castleford Community building. All the groups supported and members of the club (not all men), would appreciate your support for the lone fund raising event for the service club.

Taxes For Tax Preparers: H2A Temp Foreign Ag Worker Seminar – Jan. 28

Join us for this new tax workshop designed especially for Tax Preparers, Enrolled Agents and CPA’s. On Sept 1, 2011 a new IRS law was put in place that directs employers to issue H-2A workers a Form W-2 when you prepare their W-2s for last year (2011). This is of extreme importance for you to learn about; if you work with this segment of the population and want to prepare their taxes correctly. “The Sound of Music” – Jan. 20-28

The Mt Harrison Heritage Foundation’s production of Rogers and Hammerstein’s “The Sound of Music,” which opens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at the King Fine Arts Center.  The play will show Jan. 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, at 7:30 p.m. and on Jan 28, at 2 p.m.

Sarah Condie stars as Maria. She is governess to the Von Trapp children, who are: Lauren Cook, as Gretl, Brigham Bodily as Marta, Caden Seely, who is Kurt, Ceci Faux, as Luisa, Cody Hansen as Frederich, and Kyrstin Tindall as Leisel.  Burton Anderson stars as Captain Von Trapp, with Megi Jones as Baroness Schrader. The Mother Superior is played by Barbara Sorensen, with MaKyla Barras, Kayla Lloyd, and Donn Peacock as some of the nuns.  Michael James is Max and Casey Tindall is Rolf.

Admission is $10 for reserve seating; $8 for general seating; $5 for economy seating. Tickets are available at Book Plaza, Welch Music in Burley; The Book Store in Rupert; Crowley’s “The Quad”  and Welch Music in Twin Falls. Tickets will also be available at the door.
