Presentation on Day of Remembrance – Feb. 16

Twin Falls College of Southern Idaho history professor Russ Tremayne speaks on Day of Remembrance, 1-2 p.m. Feb. 16 in College of Southern Idaho’s Shields Building, room 118. Tremayne discusses Executive Order 9066, the decree by then President Franklin D. Roosevelt that created internment camps and forced mass relocations. The Hunt Relocation Camp, now referred to as the Minidoka Internment Camp, became a temporary home for up to 10,000 of the estimated 120,000 Japanese Americans who were forced from their homes between 1942 and 1945. Free admission.
Art and Foreign Film Series – Feb. 16

Twin Falls Art and Foreign Film Series, “Hottest Ticket in Town,” presented by CSI’s Community Education Center and Twin Cinema 12, continues at Twin Cinema 12 Theatre on Eastland Drive. One film screened each week. Featured films: 7:30 p.m. February 16 and 1 p.m. February 19, “The Way,” (an inspirational story about family, friends and challenges faced while navigating the world. Tom, an American doctor, goes to France to collect the remains of his adult son who died while walking the Camino de Santiago, and Tom embarks on the historical pilgrimage to honor his son’s desire to finish the journey). An informal off-site gathering follows each film. Tickets are $9 each or $40 for the series of five movies, at Twin Cinema 12, CSI box office, 732-6288 or tickets.csi.edu.
