Ahoy, Magic Valley! Team up with your family, friends, co-workers, or just challenge yourself to enter this great new community event. Longview is celebrating their 40th Anniversary in Twin Falls – and they’re supplying all the cardboard you’ll need to construct your own seaworthy cardboard vessel.
It’s easy to get started – simply contact the Twin Falls Chamber office at 733-3974 to sign up, get the official rules (for rules questions, call Regatta Headquarters toll-free at 888-378-2672), and pay the appropriate entry fee. Then, head over to Longview with your receipt to get your free cardboard. From there let your imagination take over to build as simple or elaborate a craft you feel capable. The Cardboard Boat Regatta is open to children AND adults. Groups challenging others are strongly encouraged! Prizes will be awarded for numerous categories.
Even if you don’t plan to make a boat – plan to attend this great event. The races start at 12noon on Saturday, August 21 at Dierke’s Lake. We’ll have food and beverages available for purchase from The Pressbox. Parking is limited at the park, so plan to carpool. Bus shuttle service will also be available, as needed.
