Magic Philharmonic Orchestra’s Pops Concert, 7:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at King Fine Arts Center, 2100 Park Ave., with more than 60 musicians from Mini-Cassia area. Dennis Byington is guest conductor and is the orchestra’s assistant conductor. He has a long list of theatrical pit orchestra performances and has conducted a number of large choirs. He is a violinist in the Magic Philharmonic and has served as a section leader. Tickets are $8 for adults and $3 for students, at Welch Music or Book Plaza in Burley and The Book Store in Rupert. Lincoln Day Celebration – Feb 11

The Republican Members and Associates are hosting a Lincoln Day Celebration on February 11 with a dinner show at Canyon Crest. Scott Rasmussen, author, political analyst and public opinion pollster will be the guest speaker. A VIP Cocktail party will be held at 5:30 pm, cocktail hour is at 6 pm and the dinner show starts at 7 pm. Decadent desserts will also be auctioned after dinner. Get in the spirit of Valentine’s Day with a performance of “McManus in Love,” a one-man comedy written by nationally renowned humor writer Patrick F. McManus, and starring his indentured actor, Tim Behrens. Follow the hilarious antics of the young Pat and his pal Crazy Eddie Muldoon, as they discover their fear of the dark is child’s play compared to their fear of girls! Actor Tim Behrens portrays the one-man cast of 15 characters, including a bat, a bear, a bicycle, and an even stranger assortment of humans. Magic Valley Advertising Federation – Feb 9

The Magic Valley Advertising Federation invites you to learn about “The Advertising Success Of Budweiser” on February 9 at the Shilo Inn in Twin Falls. This will be a great opportunity to see how Budweiser produces the TV commercials that we all look forward to seeing each year. The approach of Budweiser to each brand and that brand’s customers will also be discussed. This is an after work presentation with check in starting at 5:15pm. Light appetizers and beverages will be provided. Cost is $5 for MVAF members and $10 for non- members. Reservations are requested by Tuesday, February 7. The Southern Idaho Association of Health Underwriters presents a Charity Bowling Tournament on February 10th at Cedar Lanes from 5-6pm. All proceeds benefit the Twin Falls Senior Center. Twin Falls Rotary Club of Twin Falls’ 7th Annual Death by Chocolate event, 6-9 p.m. Feb.. 2 at Canyon Crest Dining and Event Center, 330 Canyon Crest Drive. Local chefs will compete in five categories: chocolate cake, brownie, cookie, candy and unique dessert. Attendees and a panel of judges will sample and vote for their favorites in each category. The event includes music by the Jason Lugo Band, plus a no-host bar, silent auction and raffle. Proceeds benefit local charities including Valley House, Salvation Army, Jubilee House, student scholarships and more.
